AirHead Diaries is a high impact feature length documentary film on the sport of Paragliding as seen through the eyes of Canadian extreme adventurer/filmmaker Peter Chrzanowski. It features six friends who call Pemberton, B.C. their home base. Shot over a period of two years, in locations around British Columbia, Poland and Mexico, the film is a personal journey of discovery that Peter takes to understand his addiction for the sport. Airhead Diaries is about the bonds that occur in the gliding community. It's about the remote locations they fly in and the eccentric friends they meet. It's about the culture of flying.
Paragliding is only 20 years old. It is huge in Europe with a half million pilots. Countries like France have 60,000 pilots, with small nations like Czech republic having 13,000 pilots. Yet in North America, this new sport has only 2500 participants (500 in Canada and 2000 in US). Yet we all have dreams of flying and the feeling of free flight is universal. That is why we feel that we are breaking new ground with something coming as big as windsurfing , surfing and skateboarding to North America.
“Flying is the ultimate freedom but it eats you up and spits you out.” The results can be marriage breakup, financial disaster or permanent disability. Though the final price paid for the passion of paragliding is sometimes death, Airheads continue to soar off towering mountains searching for the perfect thermals. “Airhead Diaries - A Journey of discovery”.
