Waiting for the rain........
As summer draws to a close there has been a rush on to squeeze out the last of the low water runs before the Autumn rains roll in. We are only a couple of weeks away from the rain falling and breathing life back into the rain fed streams of the lower Frazer Valley.
In the meantime we have been enjoying what little water is left in the melt streams. The Cheakamus in Whistler is still providing low but entertaining paddling with it being possible at present to paddle the entire length of the river from the Cheakamus Lake to Daisy Lake. This provides three distinct sections of whitewater to be enjoyed.
The images below show trips to the Cheakamus river and also a low water descent of the Stein river.
The Paddlers shown are : Burt Burton, Julian Anfossi, Leif (nice mullet) and Steve Rogers.
